About This Role: Head of School
The Head of School is charged by the Board of Directors of Point Christian Academy with the general responsibility for accomplishing the objectives of the school.
The HOS duties shall include, but not be limited to, pre-qualifying all staff, overseeing financial matters, maintaining the spiritual mission and vision of the school, evaluating and managing staff, and all day-to-day administrative duties.
He or she may be assisted in the administration of the school by an administrative staff of assistants, preschool director, and teachers who report to the HOS. In general, their function will be defined by the Head of School in light of the responsibilities and needs of the school.
Primary Responsibilities of the Head of School
1. To provide leadership in establishing and implementing Classical Christian academic programs appropriate to the stated objectives of the school.
2. To encourage and support extracurricular activities designed to supplement and enrich the students personal growth and development in line with the purpose of developing students to be well-rounded spiritually, mentally, physically, and socially.
3. To employ and retain teachers professing Christian faith consistent with the school’s statement of faith; who desire to learn and improve in their chosen profession; who are, to the highest degree possible, persons of wholesome personality, good citizenship, sound judgment, integrity and scholarly attainment; who are skilled in the art of teaching and temperamentally compatible with the children and the community comprising Point Christian Academy and Preschool.
4. To evaluate the performance of employed personnel; to engage continuously in improving their performance, preparation and experience; and to recognize exceptional merit of professional employees.
5. To report to the Board of Directors and to work with the Senior Pastor of Red Bank Baptist Church (or his designee) to help ensure a spirit of collaboration and unity exists between the School and the Church. PCA understands that it is a ministry of Red Bank Baptist Church.
6. To assign teachers and other employees to ensure the best interests of the school.
7. To be responsible for the oversight of the discipline and conduct of students.
8. To provide supervision, either personally or through a delegation of authority, for all phases and activities of the school operation.
9. To develop and maintain a status of accreditation and membership in professional organizations of Christian schools.
10. To keep abreast of sound educational practices and to make use of these practices where appropriate in the operation of the School.
11. To be involved in the activities of professional organizations where these activities can benefit the school’s total educational program.
12. To review all complaints; to render decisions consistent with sound educational and Board policy and the best interests of the school; and to interpret the school and its operating policies to parents, students, and friends of the School.
13. To manage and oversee curriculum decisions in alignment with our school mission, vision, and values of faith.
14. To identify and recruit highly qualified persons to fill vacancies on the professional and administrative staff.
15. To develop with the staff and the Board of Directors the annual budget of the School.
16. To prepare status reports about enrollment, accreditation matters, teacher salaries, or other matters as desired or requested by the Board.
17. To recommend compensation, within the established range, to all employee agreements.
18. To serve as a focal point of communication with parents, teachers, and students by a careful utilization of well-planned announcements, newsletters, bulletins, faculty and parent meetings, assemblies, and daily and weekly schedules of events.
19. To supply the Board with information about developments and events in the School.
20. To be sensitive to human relations with respect to students, school personnel, parents, and the community at large so that the best interest of the School and the School’s educational program will be served.
21. To become involved with special courses or programs of the School as schedule permits.
22. To oversee all financial operations of the school.
23. To be responsible for routine monitoring and coordinating with the church staff the maintenance development of the overall school campus, and properties of the school.
Primary Qualifications of the Head of School
1. In faith, the candidate for Head of School must:
a. Be a born again Christian and must submit a written copy of his/her personal testimony professing faith in Jesus Christ as his/her Savior;
b. Believe that the Bible is the true word of God and the standard for daily living, desiring to grow in faith daily;
c. Abide by the beliefs set forth in the Baptist Faith and Message 2000;
d. Faithfully attend a local Bible-believing church;
e. Be a strong spiritual leader for the school and the staff;
f. Engage in the mission of the church to point people to Jesus one conversation at a time.
2. In education and experience, the candidate for Head of School shall ideally:
a. Have at minimum a master’s degree, preferably from a Christian institution;
b. Have experience as a school administrator;
c. Have a passion for or a willingness to learn Classical Christian Education.
3. In relating with students, the Head of School is expected to:
a. Enjoy being with children and teenagers motivating students to accept God’s gift of salvation and to grow in their faith;
b. Demonstrate ability to inspire learning and cultivate relationships with students;
4. In professional conduct, the Head of School is expected to:
a. Maintain professional dignity by demonstrating exemplary personal moral integrity in daily living;
b. Work constructively with the Board of Directors and staff by contributing ideas and listening to the ideas of others;
c. Foster their own learning through continued education and professional development with support from PCA.
d. Maintain a personal appearance that is a role model of cleanliness, modesty, good taste and in agreement with the school’s policy;
5. In relationships, the Head of School is expected to:
a. Enroll their children in Point Christian Academy, if applicable, with support from PCA;
b. Have “builder” leadership qualities to help grow the school, including the areas of marketing and fundraising;
c. Communicate regularly with parents as partners in nurturing the academic and spiritual needs of their child;
d. Celebrate Classical Christian education in the broader community;
e. Participate actively in the community, particularly the church community;
f. Model love for Christ and students beyond the school day and campus;
g. Be a Christian role model in attitude, speech, and actions towards others, maintaining a calm and respectful tone with others. I Timothy 4:12;
h. Be an example of the believers in word, conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
i. Develop and maintain rapport with students, parents and staff by treating them with friendliness, dignity and consideration.
ABOUT POINT CHRISTIAN ACADEMY
In August 2022, was launched Point Christian Academy to provide excellent academic, faith-based education for the greater Chattanooga area. We currently have over 80 preschool through 4th grade students enrolled, and we will expand to 5th grade in the 2026-2027 school year. We plan to add additional grades each year through high school.

Point Christian Academy is seeking a Preschool Director who will oversee the daily
operation of the preschool, including staff management and ensuring compliance with
state regulations. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting the overall
spiritual, academic, social, and emotional development of the preschool child.
Qualifications
The Preschool provides an exceptional foundation for students entering Point Christian Academy. The Director’s goal will be to retain and prepare students for entering the Academy to continue pursuit of an excellent classical education. He/She will support the policies defined by the Board of Directors and uphold the school’s mission, vision, standards, and values. The Preschool Director will report directly to the Head of School.
The director will make intentional efforts to reach out, communicate and partner with parents in the spiritual and academic care and education of their children. Partnering with parents is an integral component of the Preschool and Academy’s Mission Statement.
The director will also act as a role model and mentor for teachers to provide support, to problem solve, and to strengthen instruction in the classroom while also helping to ensure a safe and secure learning environment.
A Preschool Director at Point Christian Academy must:

7. Have excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
8. The preferred candidate will have a minimum of 12 units in Child Development training and knowledge of current early childhood education best practices.
9. Have a working knowledge of or be willing to learn the information provided in the TCA Standards for School Administered Child Care Programs.
10. Have a working knowledge of or be willing to learn the fundamental principles of the Classical Christian Education model.
11. Have demonstrated a commitment to academic excellence.
12. Follow the Matthew 18 principle in dealing with students, faculty, parents, and administration. Maintain high standards of student conduct.
13. Encourage students to accept Jesus as their Savior and to grow in faith.
14. Be willing to integrate a Biblical worldview in all areas of instruction.
15. Maintain a strict level of confidentiality regarding students, parents, and co-workers.
16. Respect the law and demonstrate exemplary moral integrity.
17. Assist in selection of highly effective teachers and instructional programs.
18. Have current CPR and First Aid certification.
19. Assist the Head of School with supervision of student transportation, conduct, discipline, attendance records, reports, and newsletters.
20. Submit to the Head of School requests for expenditures or purchases.
21. Attend meetings/conferences with parents, teachers, and others..22. Assist with special events such as open houses, school programs, fundraising, etc.
23. Understand and uphold all personnel policies as outlined by the PCA Board approved policy and procedures defined in the PCA handbook.
24. Maintain a professional appearance and increase proficiency through professional growth opportunities.
25. Carry out other responsibilities as necessary in support of the operations and administration of PCA.
26. Collaborate with the Head of School to ensure alignment between preschool and academy programs and curriculums enabling a smooth transition from the preschool to the academy.

Point Christian Academy – Preschool Chattanooga, TN | Part-Time or Full-Time Position
Overview Point Christian Academy is seeking a dependable, organized, and service-minded Kitchen Manager to oversee daily food preparation and kitchen operations for our preschool program serving approximately 54 students. This role provides morning snack (breakfast), lunch, and afternoon snack each school day. The Kitchen Manager ensures meals are nutritious, well-balanced, safely prepared, and served in a caring, Christ-centered environment. This position begins at 7:30 a.m. daily, with a negotiated end time between 3:00–4:00 p.m., totaling approximately 35–40 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
Meal Planning & Nutrition
● Plan balanced weekly and monthly menus appropriate for preschool-aged children
● Ensure meals meet nutritional standards and accommodate allergies/dietary restrictions
● Maintain food cost awareness while providing quality meals
Purchasing & Inventory
● Order groceries and kitchen supplies
● Maintain appropriate food inventory levels
● Monitor expiration dates and rotate stock properly Food
Preparation & Service

Position Summary
The Substitute Teacher at Point Christian Academy provides temporary classroom coverage when the regular teacher is absent. The substitute maintains a safe, structured, and Christ-centered learning environment while following the teacher’s lesson plans and supporting students academically, socially, and spiritually.
Essential Responsibilities
● Supervise students and maintain a safe, orderly classroom environment.
● Implement lesson plans and instructions provided by the classroom teacher.
Support students with classwork, activities, and assignments.
